On August 4th, the New York Times featured an op-ed piece by MMUF PhD Leah Wright Rigueur, "Why Can't the G.O.P. Get Real with Black Voters?" Dr. Wright Rigueur, an assistant professor of public policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, writes about Donald Trump's record-low support among African-Americans and the ways in which it represents the culmination of a larger historical pattern of failure by the Republican Party to engage meaningfully with black voters and the issues they care about.
