This year's speaker for the New York Regional Lecture will be MMUF PhD Drew Thompson, Assistant Professor of Historical and Africana Studies at Bard College. Drew was selected as an MMUF fellow at Williams College and earned his PhD in African history from the University of Minnesota. He is a recipient of the Watson fellowship, which he spent in Botswana and Uganda researching the role of the visual arts in the fight against HIV/AIDS. His talk will be titled "Visualizing the Invisible: The Biometrics of War and Photography in Mozambique." Fellows at all levels of the program, including current undergraduates, are welcome to attend, as are coordinators.
