Jamal Burns, an undergraduate MMUF fellow at Duke University, is one of 32 students selected this year as recipients of the Rhodes scholarship, which allows winners to pursue advanced degrees at Oxford University. Jamal is a history major with a concentration in women and sexuality studies who will graduate in 2021; his senior thesis will examine the impact of colonialism on interpretations of the masculinity of Black students. He plans to pursue a master of philosophy degree in education and social anthropology. Our warmest congratulations to Jamal!
